We arrived in Seoul on time late Wednesday afternoon. Only an hour layover so I used the Business Lounge to freshen up and headed to the Asiana flight bound for Manila.
The plane was full but not many of us "up front" so I spread out. I could hardly keep my eyes open but the flight attendant kept wanting to serve me dinner. I don't think she understood how many meals I had already had in the last 24 hours. I finally got some sleep.
We circled Manila and it was quite smoggy. I understand polution is an issue. But arrival was a snap. No issue at immigration or customs. My luggage was on the carousel when I got there. Headed out to the Peninsula Hotel Airport Lounge. They had my car waiting and off we went into the city.
The traffic was quite heavy all around the airport. Not many limited access highways either. Whenever the car stopped, we were invaded by people trying to sell things or begging. The streets were quite dark as there don't seem to be many street lights and the ones they have are somewhat dim.
We arrived at the Peninsula about 11:30 and it is a beautiful property. I was checked in and the front desk clerk escorted me to my room. Very nice accommodations. I did a little unpacking and then went to bed - exhausted after so much flying.
Looking forward to exploring Manila tomorrow.
